The Moto 65 Jacket is the top touring jacket in the North of Berlin product line, offering fully armored, fully waterproof performance in a classic 3/4-length, four-pocket silhouette.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Moto 65 jacket is at once both its light weight construction, and the strength and initial stiffness of the shell material. Before it’s been broken in, the jacket almost stands up on its own if you take the hanger off the rack and set the jacket on the ground. This stiffness is a good thing in our estimation, as it engenders confidence that the AA-rating is going to help protect the rider in the event of a crash.

It’s not a bear to wear, though. Corduroy touch points at the collar and sleeve cuffs give it comfortable feel, and the jacket shares the same lofted mesh inner liner used in the other North of Berlin jackets, which helps wick moisture and gives the jacket a plush and comfortable overall interior feel.

The Moto 65 comes with a full five-piece Sas-Tec armor complement. With uber-thin limb protectors and a thicker central back protector, all the armor in this jacket is rated CE Level 2.

The Moto 65’s construction is a combination of a rip-stop Cordura shell that’s backed by fully taped Sympatex Z liner, which offers a waterproof and fully breathable membrane for keeping wind and water out, while keeping the rider comfortable.

Two large mesh-backed vents under the arms can be easily zipped open to help circulate fresh air.

Hip gussets can be zippered open for a more comfortable seating position, especially when layering insulating layers under the shell while riding in cooler weather.

The jacket’s general 4-pocket silhouette is a nod to the so-called M65 Field Jacket, a benchmark standard-issue piece introduced by the U.S. army in 1965.

The Moto 65 features hidden snaps underneath the pocket closures, and its two lower pockets offer a waterproof lining and an envelope closure, to help keep contents dry.

Inside are additional zippered storage pockets, an elastic waist adjuster, and a hip-to-hip zipper to connect the jacket to either the matching Moto 65 pant, or the North of Berlin Dryzone pant.

Protection:

• Certified according to EN 17092-3:2020 (Level AA).
• Abrasion-resistant Cordura/cotton blend with DWR surface.
• Highly flexible and extremely flat Sas-Tec protectors on shoulders, elbows and back.
• All protectors used reach level 2 in protective effect.

Features:

• Four outside pockets, two of which are waterproof, two zippered inside pockets.
• Pocket on the forearm for keys or change.
• Quality metal zippers from YKK.
• Internal drawstring to adjust the waist size.
• A uniform long connecting zipper between jacket and pants makes it easier to combine into a connected suit -- will pair with both the Moto 65 and Dryzone Pants from North of Berlin.
